These vintage drop earrings feature delicate, hand-blown Venetian glass beads—an understated yet meaningful nod to one of the world’s most treasured glassmaking traditions. Originating from the island of Murano near Venice, Venetian glass has been crafted by master artisans since the 13th century. Revered for its technical brilliance, decorative complexity, and richly coloured finishes, it became a symbol of status and artistry throughout Europe and beyond.

The beads used here are made using a traditional glassblowing technique, where molten glass is shaped and hollowed using only air and motion. While many Venetian glass pieces are known for their bold colours and intricate patterns, this particular pair speaks in a quieter tone: smoky silver tones and gentle striping, shaped into softly twisted spheres, suspended from slender silver-toned hooks.
