ふんわりと広がる四つ葉のような輪郭に、静かに咲くアイリスの花。
深いコバルトブルーとブラックのグラデーションを背景に、つやを抑えた赤紫と若草色が浮かび上がる、美しいクロワゾネのイヤリングです。

クロワゾネとは、金属面に繊細な金属線で模様を区切り、そこにガラス質の釉薬を流し込んで焼き上げる、古くはビザンチン帝国にまで遡る装飾技法。
その後、中国や日本で発展し、西洋でも19世紀以降に芸術品として愛されてきました。

この一点では、アイリスの端正なフォルムが、金色の縁取りとマットな色合いによって上品に浮かび上がり、どこか静謐な印象を与えます。やや珍しい四方花形（しほうはながた）のフォルムも魅力で、クラシカルながらも印象的な佇まい。

Cloisonné is an ancient enameling art form, born in the Byzantine Empire and perfected across China and Japan before gaining Western appreciation in the 19th century.
