繊細で美しく、どこか詩的な趣をたたえるこのベンラス（Benrus）のヴィンテージウォッチ。アメリカのクラフツマンシップとスイスの精密さ、そしてアールヌーヴォーの優雅な意匠がひとつになった、まるで手もとの小さな芸術作品です。

ベンラスは1921年、アメリカ・ニューヨークでラズラス兄弟によって創業。スイス製のムーブメントを搭載した高品質かつデザイン性の高い時計で人気を博し、特に1950年代〜60年代前半にかけて多くの名作を生み出しました。

本品はその時代の、スイス製の手巻きモデル。時を経て深みを増したゴールドのケースに、アールヌーヴォー調のフォントが優雅に配された文字盤が収められています。小ぶりなスクエアフェイスが手首にすっと溶け込み、現代にはない繊細な美しさを感じさせます。

ダイヤルの上下には、シルバートーンの装飾と控えめなラインストーンが添えられており、光を柔らかく受けてきらりと輝きます。華美にならず、上品なアクセントとして魅力を引き立てます。

ベルトはヘリンボーン調のデザインで、伸縮性のある仕様が快適な着け心地を叶え、装着もスムーズ。経年による若干の使用感はございますが、全体的に非常に良好なヴィンテージコンディションを保っています。

そしてこの時計最大の魅力は、「手巻き式」であること。ゼンマイを毎朝くるくると巻くという行為は、ただの時間合わせではなく、時計との対話のようなもの。ゆっくりとした時間の流れや、自分と向き合う余白を与えてくれる、現代にはない贅沢な体験です。

この時計を見つけたのは、週末限定の室内マーケット。腕時計に長年携わってきたエジプト系のご夫婦が、私の“手巻きウォッチ愛”を知っていて、いくつか特別に取り置きしておいてくれたうちのひとつでした。時計への愛と審美眼が交差した、まさに一期一会の出会いです。

ブラウスやヴィンテージワンピースと合わせるのはもちろん、デニムやTシャツに合わせても、ほんのりと物語を添えてくれるような一本です。

This vintage Benrus timepiece is a tiny work of art — one that brings together American heritage, Swiss precision, and elegant design in a form that feels as wearable as it is timeless.

Benrus was founded in New York in 1921 by the Lazrus brothers, and quickly rose to fame throughout the mid-20th century for its stylish, accessible watches built with Swiss movements. While Benrus gained attention for its military and sports models, it also crafted refined women's timepieces with an eye for form, detail, and beauty — such as this one, likely dating from the 1950s to early 1960s.

Made in Switzerland, this hand-wound piece features a radiant vintage gold casing, aged into a soft warmth that only time can bring. The dial is marked with stylised numerals in an Art Nouveau-inspired script, adding a whisper of romance to the square-shaped face — elegant and compact, a contrast to modern bulk.

Above and below the dial, rhinestone accents are delicately set into silver-toned flourishes, evoking antique ornamentation. Their subtle sparkle adds just the right amount of light — never loud, always graceful.

The herringbone-style bracelet — both stylish and durable — is fitted with stretch links, offering comfort and a snug, wrist-hugging fit. A few signs of age are visible upon close inspection, but the piece remains in excellent vintage condition overall.

At its heart, this watch is hand-wound, inviting a small, quiet ritual: turning the crown by hand to awaken the inner gears, to feel time move in your fingertips. It’s a practice that invites slowness, intention, and presence — qualities so rare in today’s fast world.

Sourced from a hidden indoor weekend market, this watch was selected from a small batch set aside by an Egyptian couple who have been working with watches for decades. They knew of my love for mechanical watches and thoughtfully curated this one especially for me — a moment of shared appreciation between collectors.

昨年からはオーストラリア北部の街で過ごす時間が長くなり、これまであまり馴染みのなかったこの地域のマーケットを巡るようになりました。まるで探検のようでもあり、フィールドワークのようでもあり・・。次々と新しい出会いに恵まれ、驚くほどの速さで発見が積み重なっていった日々でした。

早朝の澄んだ空気のなかで開かれるもの、森に囲まれた小さなもの、にぎわいの中にぽつんと現れる静かなヴィンテージの屋台——何度も足を運ぶうちに、どの場所にどんな出会いがあるのか、少しずつ肌で感じられるようになってきました。

そんな日々のなかで見つけたものたちを、ようやくみなさまにご紹介できる機会が整いました。

ここ１ヶ月は、いつものようにマーケットを巡りながら、その様子をこのInstagramのストーリーズやライブ配信、投稿、リール動画を通して、少しずつお届けしてきました。見つけたアイテムだけでなく、その背景や空気感、どんなふうに惹かれて手に取ったのかまで、なるべく丁寧にお伝えしようとつとめてまいりました。

仕入れた品はひとつひとつ手で磨き、整えながら、その過程や、スタイリングの提案、そして個人的に特に心に残ったお気に入りのご紹介などもさせていただきました。そして、この1か月の記録の集大成として6月に見つけたアイテムが、ささやかな物語とともに並びます。どのようにして、ひとつのジュエリーが"誰かの宝物"になっていくのか——その過程そのものを、みなさまと分かち合えたら嬉しいです。

Since last year, I’ve been spending more time a northern part of Australia—an area I hadn’t been very familiar with before. I began visiting local markets there, and the experience has felt part exploration, part fieldwork. One discovery led to another, and before I knew it, the days became a whirlwind of encounters and inspiration.

Some markets open in the crisp stillness of early morning, others are tucked away in forested corners, while quiet vintage stalls appear almost like a mirage amidst the bustle. With each visit, I started to get a sense—almost instinctively—of what kinds of treasures might be found in each place.

And now, I finally have the chance to share some of those finds with you.

Over the past month, I’ve continued my usual market visits while slowly documenting the journey through Instagram Stories, livestreams, posts, and reels. I’ve tried to share not just the items themselves, but the atmosphere behind them—the feeling of the moment I was drawn to each piece, and the story it carried.

Each item I sourced has been polished by hand and thoughtfully prepared. Along the way, I’ve also shared styling ideas and personal favourites that left a particular impression on me. And now, as a culmination of these weeks of exploration, the pieces I found in June are ready—presented here with their quiet stories. I hope to share not just the jewellery, but the very process of how a piece becomes someone’s treasure.
