重なり合うゴールドトーンのチェーンが、首もとに自然なボリュームをつくり、中央に配されたモチーフが静かに視線を集めるネックレス。
華やかさはありますが、装飾が前に出すぎず、全体として構築的で落ち着いた印象を保っています。

本作は、Barrera がデザインを手がけた Barrera for Avon のジュエリーです。
Barreraは、1980〜90年代のアメリカ・コスチュームジュエリー界で高い評価を受けたデザイナーで、
彫刻的で立体感のあるフォルム、宝飾的な石使い、そして「量産品であっても完成度を落とさない」姿勢で知られていました。

Avonとのコラボレーションにおいてもその美学は一切妥協されず、
Barrera for Avonの作品は、通常のAvonラインとは異なり、明確に“デザイナーズ・コスチュームジュエリー”として位置づけられています。
そのため現在では、Avon名義でありながら、Barrera作品としてコレクターに収集されるシリーズとなっています。

このネックレスは、そうしたBarrera作品の中でも、石の欠けやメッキの劣化が見られない非常に良好なコンディション。

「Barreraがデザインし、この完成度を保ったまま残っている」という点に強く惹かれたからでした。

このネックレスを手に取ったとき、
まず目に留まったのは、花びら一枚一枚に宿る、色と艶の静けさでした。

やわらかなピンクトーンのフローラルモチーフ。
ゴールドトーンの地金の上に、丁寧に施されたエナメルは、
ムラや欠けがほとんど見られず、
時間を経た今も、みずみずしさを保っています。
このように良好な状態で残るエナメル加工のヴィンテージジュエリーは、年々希少になっています。

花の中心には小さなメタルビーズが配され、
甘さだけに寄らない、ほどよい立体感と奥行きを演出。
チェーン部分にも小さなエナメルパーツが組み込まれ、
ネックレス全体として、ひとつの流れある景色をつくっています。
