このリングと出会ったのは、緑が多く、広々とした歩道が印象的な郊外の住宅地にある、チャリティ運営のコレクターショップ。チャーチスタイルの建物の中には、シルバージュエリーや食器、古書、ハンドバッグ、靴、花瓶などがショーケースにずらりと並び、スタッフの方もお客さまも、ほとんどが長年コレクションを続けているご年配の女性ばかり。

とくに親しくしている70代のスタッフの方は、ジュエリーに造詣が深く、伺うたびに保管やお手入れのコツを教えてくれます。このリングも、そんな空間の中にあるヴィンテージジュエリーボックスに収められ、同時代の手袋やバッグと並べられていました。

シンプルな白シャツやニットと合わせるだけで、着こなしに洗練された強さを加えてくれる一品。日々のコーディネートに、そっと芯のある輝きを添えてくれます。

A bold yet beautifully balanced piece, this vintage ring captures the elegance of classic jewellery and the confident spirit of contemporary design. At the centre, a luminous costume pearl glows with a soft, creamy sheen — its timeless beauty elevated by a warm gold-tone bezel setting. Surrounding it, a textured silver metal band spreads wide across the finger, its subtle industrial motif lending strength and modernity to the overall composition.

The contrast between the graceful pearl and the structured silver shank is what makes this piece so uniquely compelling — it’s where delicacy meets power, softness meets precision. The ring has a solid feel, offering a satisfying sturdiness that hugs the finger comfortably without feeling overly heavy. It brings a reassuring presence, almost like a companion for the hand.

We estimate this ring to be from the 1980s to early 1990s, a period when costume jewellery often embraced daring, sculptural forms — especially those that played with the juxtaposition of softness and strength.

We discovered this piece in a charming collectors’ charity shop nestled in a leafy suburban neighbourhood. Housed in a church building with high ceilings and bright light, the shop features rows of glass cabinets brimming with silver pieces, handbags, shoes, ceramics, vintage books, and more. The staff and customers are mostly elderly women, many of whom are lifelong collectors themselves. One particular staff member — a woman in her 70s — has become a dear acquaintance over time. She always greets us with a smile and often shares her secret tricks for cleaning vintage jewellery.

This ring was displayed in a vintage jewellery box, alongside handbags, gloves, and hair ornaments from the same era. Its bold elegance and tactile weight made it an instant curatorial pick.

For styling, wear it with minimal ensembles to let the piece speak — a crisp white shirt and tailored pants, or even a simple knit. It adds a touch of old-world poise and quiet strength to your look, whether you’re heading to work or simply running errands in style.

昨年からはオーストラリア北部の街で過ごす時間が長くなり、これまであまり馴染みのなかったこの地域のマーケットを巡るようになりました。まるで探検のようでもあり、フィールドワークのようでもあり・・。次々と新しい出会いに恵まれ、驚くほどの速さで発見が積み重なっていった日々でした。

早朝の澄んだ空気のなかで開かれるもの、森に囲まれた小さなもの、にぎわいの中にぽつんと現れる静かなヴィンテージの屋台——何度も足を運ぶうちに、どの場所にどんな出会いがあるのか、少しずつ肌で感じられるようになってきました。

そんな日々のなかで見つけたものたちを、ようやくみなさまにご紹介できる機会が整いました。

ここ１ヶ月は、いつものようにマーケットを巡りながら、その様子をこのInstagramのストーリーズやライブ配信、投稿、リール動画を通して、少しずつお届けしてきました。見つけたアイテムだけでなく、その背景や空気感、どんなふうに惹かれて手に取ったのかまで、なるべく丁寧にお伝えしようとつとめてまいりました。

仕入れた品はひとつひとつ手で磨き、整えながら、その過程や、スタイリングの提案、そして個人的に特に心に残ったお気に入りのご紹介などもさせていただきました。そして、この1か月の記録の集大成として6月に見つけたアイテムが、ささやかな物語とともに並びます。どのようにして、ひとつのジュエリーが"誰かの宝物"になっていくのか——その過程そのものを、みなさまと分かち合えたら嬉しいです。

Since last year, I’ve been spending more time a northern part of Australia—an area I hadn’t been very familiar with before. I began visiting local markets there, and the experience has felt part exploration, part fieldwork. One discovery led to another, and before I knew it, the days became a whirlwind of encounters and inspiration.

Some markets open in the crisp stillness of early morning, others are tucked away in forested corners, while quiet vintage stalls appear almost like a mirage amidst the bustle. With each visit, I started to get a sense—almost instinctively—of what kinds of treasures might be found in each place.

And now, I finally have the chance to share some of those finds with you.

Over the past month, I’ve continued my usual market visits while slowly documenting the journey through Instagram Stories, livestreams, posts, and reels. I’ve tried to share not just the items themselves, but the atmosphere behind them—the feeling of the moment I was drawn to each piece, and the story it carried.

Each item I sourced has been polished by hand and thoughtfully prepared. Along the way, I’ve also shared styling ideas and personal favourites that left a particular impression on me. And now, as a culmination of these weeks of exploration, the pieces I found in June are ready—presented here with their quiet stories. I hope to share not just the jewellery, but the very process of how a piece becomes someone’s treasure.
