自然が描いた繊細なグラデーションを纏った、ヴィンテージブローチ。

優しい白、儚げなパウダーピンク、そしてわずかに青みがかったトーンまで──天然のシェルが織りなす柔らかな色の重なりは、人工では生み出せない有機的な美しさに満ちています。ラインストーンの煌めきが花の中心に集まり、朝露のような光を添え、ブローチ全体を立体的に際立たせます。

360度どこから見ても均整が取れたこのブローチは、ピンの向きを気にせず着けられるのが嬉しいポイント。ブラウスやジャケットの襟元はもちろん、バッグやストール、帽子にプラスするだけで、クラシカルな装いのアクセントに。甘すぎず、華やかすぎず、日常の装いにもそっと馴染みます。

買い付けたのは、緑豊かな郊外にあるコレクターズショップ。チャーチが運営する落ち着いた空間には、年配のスタッフさんやお客さまが多く、それぞれの思い出が詰まった品々が並んでいます。私が特に親しくしている70代のスタッフの方は、何十年もヴィンテージジュエリーを集めてきた方で、会うたびにジュエリーのお手入れ方法など、色々と教えてくださいます。

このブローチは、ヴィンテージのジュエリーボックスにそっと収められ、同じ時代の手袋や髪飾り、バッグと並んでいました。天然のシェルを花のように象って立体的に仕上げられたデザインは本当に珍しく、この出会いを大切にしたいという思いで買い付けました。

A quiet bloom shaped by time and nature—this vintage brooch offers a rare interplay of softness and symmetry. At its heart is an ornate floral design, composed of layered shell pieces and tiny rhinestones that catch the light like dew on petals. The mother-of-pearl elements reveal a palette only nature could create: silvery whites, soft creams, powder pinks, and even hints of pale blue—all within a single piece.

This brooch has been meticulously crafted with a thoughtful structure: no matter which angle it is worn, the design remains symmetrical and harmonious. The effect is a graceful starburst that adds depth and elegance, whether pinned to a blouse, a coat lapel, or a silk scarf. It also lends itself beautifully as an adornment for handbags or hats—one of those rare accessories that travels easily from day to evening, casual to dressy.

Estimated to date from the 1960s to early 70s, the piece showcases the high level of design refinement typical of costume jewellery from that era, when craftsmanship was valued and each ornament carried personality.

Discovered in a serene suburb full of greenery, at a charming church-run collectors’ shop where nearly all the customers and staff were elderly women with twinkling eyes and deep histories. Glass showcases lined the room, displaying silver jewelry, antique dishes, handbags, shoes, and all manner of forgotten treasures. This brooch was resting gently in a vintage jewelry box, alongside gloves and hair accessories from the same period. Its unique design—using natural shell to build a dimensional floral form—felt too rare not to bring back and share with someone who would truly appreciate its quiet beauty.

昨年からはオーストラリア北部の街で過ごす時間が長くなり、これまであまり馴染みのなかったこの地域のマーケットを巡るようになりました。まるで探検のようでもあり、フィールドワークのようでもあり・・。次々と新しい出会いに恵まれ、驚くほどの速さで発見が積み重なっていった日々でした。

早朝の澄んだ空気のなかで開かれるもの、森に囲まれた小さなもの、にぎわいの中にぽつんと現れる静かなヴィンテージの屋台——何度も足を運ぶうちに、どの場所にどんな出会いがあるのか、少しずつ肌で感じられるようになってきました。

そんな日々のなかで見つけたものたちを、ようやくみなさまにご紹介できる機会が整いました。

ここ１ヶ月は、いつものようにマーケットを巡りながら、その様子をこのInstagramのストーリーズやライブ配信、投稿、リール動画を通して、少しずつお届けしてきました。見つけたアイテムだけでなく、その背景や空気感、どんなふうに惹かれて手に取ったのかまで、なるべく丁寧にお伝えしようとつとめてまいりました。

仕入れた品はひとつひとつ手で磨き、整えながら、その過程や、スタイリングの提案、そして個人的に特に心に残ったお気に入りのご紹介などもさせていただきました。そして、この1か月の記録の集大成として6月に見つけたアイテムが、ささやかな物語とともに並びます。どのようにして、ひとつのジュエリーが"誰かの宝物"になっていくのか——その過程そのものを、みなさまと分かち合えたら嬉しいです。

Since last year, I’ve been spending more time a northern part of Australia—an area I hadn’t been very familiar with before. I began visiting local markets there, and the experience has felt part exploration, part fieldwork. One discovery led to another, and before I knew it, the days became a whirlwind of encounters and inspiration.

Some markets open in the crisp stillness of early morning, others are tucked away in forested corners, while quiet vintage stalls appear almost like a mirage amidst the bustle. With each visit, I started to get a sense—almost instinctively—of what kinds of treasures might be found in each place.

And now, I finally have the chance to share some of those finds with you.

Over the past month, I’ve continued my usual market visits while slowly documenting the journey through Instagram Stories, livestreams, posts, and reels. I’ve tried to share not just the items themselves, but the atmosphere behind them—the feeling of the moment I was drawn to each piece, and the story it carried.

Each item I sourced has been polished by hand and thoughtfully prepared. Along the way, I’ve also shared styling ideas and personal favourites that left a particular impression on me. And now, as a culmination of these weeks of exploration, the pieces I found in June are ready—presented here with their quiet stories. I hope to share not just the jewellery, but the very process of how a piece becomes someone’s treasure.
